The Open Enrollment application period for non-resident students for the 2019-20 school year is between February 4 and April 30, 2019. It is recommended that parents apply online for this program. You may select up to three schools when applying.
Unfortunately, for the 2019-20 school year, the Board of Education did not approve any new Open Enrollment seats for regular or special education, nor will the district administer a waiting list. In addition, the Board has voted not to guarantee seats for students who are currently attending under a tuition waiver or siblings of currently attending Open Enrollment students.
Due to the consolidation of schools in 2013 along with the increased resident enrollment, the School District of Brown Deer does not have as much room available for non-resident students.
While there are no available seats for regular or special education, the board did approve a limited number of 9th grade seats for the 2019-20 school year in two special programs—Construction (10) and Project Lead the Way (10) for a total of 20 seats. A waitlist will be administered for these programs only. To apply for the Construction Program or Project Lead the Way, you must indicate your preferred program on the application in the appropriate space. Seats will be filled by random selection.
