Kelly Lam joined the School District of Brown Deer in the 2017-'18 school year as an Assistant Principal (Grades 9-11). Ms. Lam is an integral part of the Data Committee, Academic and Career Planning Committee, and School Improvement Plan. Part of Ms. Lam’s responsibilities include overseeing the math department and being an instructional coach to help support student-centered practices in the classroom, which promotes inquiry and collaboration during the learning process.
Prior to her joining Brown Deer High School, Ms. Lam was a Math Specialist at Lake Shore Middle School in the Mequon-Thiensville School District and a high school math teacher at Sussex Hamilton High School. In her role as Math Specialist, she led the work forward for the math Response-to-Intervention (RTI) program and was a member of the leadership team that implemented District and School initiatives. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Lam served as the Athletic Director at Lake Shore Middle School and held various coaching positions at the middle and high school levels.
