Summer 2024 Programs Open February 13th!

Unless otherwise noted, all programs open for registration on Tuesday, February 13th at 8:00 PM and have scholarships available. Scholarship information and applications are available now on each program's landing page.
For additional program information and FAQ's, please visit the page for the program(s) you are interested. If a program fills, please sign up for the waitlist. If no waitlist option appears, it means the waitlist has reached capacity.
Please note that due to overwhelming feedback, we are opening programs in the evening versus at noon this year. If you have any issues with registration, please e-mail stem@msoe.edu and we will respond on the 14th in the order messages were received.

Exploring Robotics
Session 1: June 18th - 20th | 9:00 - Noon
Session 2: June 25th - 27th | 9:00 - Noon
Entering Grades 1 - 3 in 2024 - 2025
$105
Students will use LEGO Inventor bricks to bring engineering design skills to life. They will learn about solving a problem, brainstorming solutions, and testing and improving prototypes. They will complete mini projects that involve coding and building related to an amusement park.
There are two sessions offered for this program. Both sessions are identical in content and due to demand, we ask that families do not enroll their student in more than one session of this program.

Discover Engineering Design Through Robotics
Session 1: July 1st | 9:00 - 4:00
Session 2: August 12th | 9:00 - 4:00
Entering Grades 3 - 5 in 2024 - 2025
$95
Students will use LEGO Inventor bricks to bring engineering design skills to life. They will design and code prototypes related transportation such as, boats, cable cars, and aircraft. Students will be challenged to dig into the engineering design process as they refine their prototypes and debug code.
There are two sessions offered for this program. Both sessions are identical in content and due to demand, we ask that families do not enroll their student in more than one session of this program.

Exploring Engineering

Free!
Three… Two… One.. Blast off! Channel your inner Artemis Team member and discover what it takes to land on the moon, launch a satellite, and explore new technologies from NASA. Campers will simulate a solar eclipse, collect planetary core samples, code a robot that navigates through the Solar System, and cultivate space crops in this out-of-this-world STEM camp!

Art & Engineering Design Studio

Students will use their engineering skills to create a piece of art for their room. Engineering skills may include: CAD, 3D printing, laser engraving, electronics, and coding. No prior experience is needed.

Students who have attended FTC Advanced Robotics sessions in the past are welcome to attend. Skills utilized will be the same as 2023, but the challenge will differ slightly.
Students who participate in FTC Robotics during the school year are welcome to attend, but the content covered in this course will not be new nor will the challenge scenario.

All Things Coding and Engineering
July 30th - August 1st | 9:00 - 4:00
Entering Grades 6 - 8 in 2024 - 2025

This program will give students the opportunity to explore several types of technology and the open-ended engineering design process to create mini projects. The mini projects will include coding and solving real world problems related to different engineering disciplines. Past projects have included coding 2D video games, coding robotic hands, building solar powered race cars, and creating model homes with working circuits.

Video Game Innovators

Entering Grades 6 - 7 in 2024 - 2025

Students will create a simple video game using block coding. After testing their game using normal controls, they will then explore methods of controlling their character using artificial intelligence (AI).

Introduction to Video Game Scripting
August 16th | 9:00 - 4:00
Entering Grades 8 - 9 in 2024 - 2025

Students will be introduced to object-oriented programming through video games! Students will program a basic video game using python or Luau. Students do not need to know either language in order to attend this program.
