Ellen Schimenz, Assistant Principal
Ellen Schimenz has been an assistant principal at Brown Deer Elementary School since 2013 when the middle school building was repurposed into the elementary school. She also oversees the academic after school program, Falcon Friends and the 4th/5th Grade Boys and Girls Falcon Basketball Program. Having a love for children, Ms. Schimenz is committed to inspiring students to be passionate learners, creative thinkers and innovative leaders who enrich our world.
In 2012, Ms. Schimenz started working for the district as the Coordinator of the Falcon 21:Community Learning Center (CLC). Prior to this, Ms. Schimenz raised five sons (with her husband, Matt Schimenz) all of whom attended and are graduates of Brown Deer Schools. Their only daughter is a senior at Brown Deer Middle/High School. Living in the Village of Brown Deer since 1991, Ms. Schimenz has a heightened commitment to the students, families, school district and community.
Ms. Schimenz received her undergraduate degree from The University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in Biology and Physical Education, and taught and coached in two Wisconsin schools; Clinton High School, Clinton and Hillsboro Elementary School, Hillsboro. She received her masters in Educational Leadership from Marian University, Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin.
